—He will guide his heart, and Allah is Knowing of all things.” (al-Taghābun 11).
Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “He guides his heart to certainty so that he knows that what struck him could never have missed him, and what missed him could never have struck him.”
ʿAlqamah said about the verse: “It refers to a man upon whom a calamity falls; he realizes that it is from Allah, so he is content and submits.”

When a person observes both the command and the decree in the manner we have described—worshipping Allah, seeking His help, and relying on Him—he is among those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favour.
-
Allah has coupled these two foundations in many passages, such as His words: “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help” (al-Fātiḥah 5); His words: “So worship Him and rely upon Him” (Hūd 123); and His words: “My success is only through Allah; upon Him I rely, and to Him I turn” (Hūd 88).
