Section: The Oneness of Divinity (tawḥīd al-ulūhiyyah)

The oneness of divinity is to single out Allah, exalted is He, for worship—so that He alone is worshipped and nothing else is worshipped: not an angel, messenger, prophet, saint, tree, stone, sun, moon, or anything whatsoever.

Among the evidences for this are His words: “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him” (4:36); and His words: “We never sent any messenger before you without revealing to him: ‘There is no god but I, so worship Me’” (21:25); and His words: “Your god is one God; there is no god but Him, the All-Merciful, the Ever-Merciful” (2:163); and His words: “Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and so do the angels and those…” (3:18).
