Shaykh Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī had earlier appended a brief comment to a legal ruling in this journal on the same issue, clarifying that the Sunnah is for a fasting traveler to break his fast at home before setting out. We have since received—through Shaykh Ḥamdī al-Juwayjānī—a statement from Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad al-Hararī, who relates that some readers showed him Albānī’s remark and that he judged it to rely on a weak hadith. We presented al-Hararī’s statement to Shaykh al-Albānī, and he reinforced his earlier view with a new rejoinder. We now publish the two statements below:
