50 – Hafs ibn ʿUmar related to me; Ismaʿil ibn ʿAyyash narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Abi Husayn, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, who said: “It used to be said: ‘When four qualities come together, everything about the meal is brought to perfection: it begins with lawful provision, the name of Allah is invoked when it is set down, many hands partake of it, and Allah is praised when it is finished.’”
