38 – Dāwūd ibn Rushayd narrated to us, from Abū al-Malīḥ, who said: Maymūn ibn Mihrān remarked, “When a guest comes to you, do not burden yourself with more than you can manage. Offer him the food you give your own family and receive him with a cheerful face, for if you strain yourself to provide what is beyond your means, you will soon meet him with an expression he dislikes.”
