33 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn handed me his notebook, written in his own hand, which contained the following: “Muhammad ibn Abi al-Khallal narrated to us; Khalid ibn Zayd al-Haddadi narrated to us from Salih al-Dahhan, who said:

‘Abu Qufas al-Yahmadi invited us, and Jabir ibn Zayd was with us. When the tables were laid out, Jabir said, “Abu Qufas, the blessing upon you has become abundant, so receive it with gratitude.”

⦗35⦘ After we had finished lunch, Abu Qufas ordered that the poor of the neighborhood be brought. Tables were arranged for them, they were seated, and Abu Qufas and his children stood by them until they had eaten their fill. Then Jabir ibn Zayd said, “May Allah bless for you, Abu Qufas, what He has bestowed upon you, increase His kindness toward you, and make you among those who give thanks for His favors.”’
