Qira al-DayfIbn Abi al-Dunya

2 – Ahmad ibn Jamil narrated to us; ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us; Muhammad ibn ‘Ajlan narrated to us, from Sa‘id al-Maqburi, from Abu Shurayh al-Ka‘bi, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest. The guest’s entitled gift is one day and one night, and hospitality extends for three days; whatever is offered beyond that is charity. Nor is it lawful for him to remain with his host until he causes him hardship.”
