1 – Abu al-Hasan ʿAli ibn Bulban likewise informed us; they both said: “The Imam Bahāʾ al-Din ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Ahmad al-Maqdisī related to us.” Ibn Bulban added: “And so did Abu Ṭāhir Khalīl ibn Ahmad ibn ʿAli ibn Khalīl al-Jawsaqī.”
Al-Ḥajjār said: “Khalīl al-Jawsaqī transmitted to us with a higher chain, and Abu Ṣāliḥ Naṣr ibn ʿAbd al-Razzaq ibn ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlī as well, both by written authorization, based on their joint audition of the three narrations from Fakhr al-Nisāʾ Shahdah bint Ahmad ibn al-Faraj al-Āburī the Scribe, who herself had heard them from Abu al-Fawāris Ṭarrād ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAli al-Zaynī, the naqīb, in Dhu al-Qaʿdah of the year … ”
We were informed by Abu al-Husayn ʿAli ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Bishrān al-Muʿaddil. I—Abu al-Husayn—together with Abu Jaʿfar, namely Ahmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Jawzī, in Dhu al-Qaʿdah of the year 340 AH, narrated to us that the Imam and ḥāfiẓ Abu Bakr ʿAbd Allah ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd ibn Sufyān ibn Abi al-Dunyā al-Qurashī said: ⦗17⦘ “Shujāʿ ibn al-Ashras ibn Maymūn related to us … then Layth ibn Saʿd, from Saʿīd ibn Abi Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abu Shurayḥ al-Khuzaʿī, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest.’”
