When Solomon, peace be upon him, finished building it, Allah Most High said to him, “Solomon, ask of Me.” He said, “My Lord, I ask You to forgive my sins. I ask You for a kingdom such as no one after me will possess. I ask You to cleanse whoever comes to this House seeking only to pray there of his sins, leaving him as on the day his mother bore him. My Lord, I ask You to heal whoever comes to it suffering from illness, and I ask that Your eye remain upon it until the Day of Resurrection.” Allah Most High said, “You shall have that, and likewise.”
The staff of Moses, peace be upon him, will be in Jerusalem at the end of time. Allah Most High gave Mary the glad tidings of Jesus in Jerusalem. Allah Most High will prevent the Dajjāl from entering Jerusalem; he will overcome the whole earth except Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem.
Whoever fasts for a day in Jerusalem will be granted deliverance from the Fire. Allah Most High whistles to him from His lands in Jerusalem, and there is His voice from among His servants. From Jerusalem the earth was spread out, and from it the earth will be folded up. Every morning Allah Most High looks upon Jerusalem and showers His mercy upon its people. The shade that descends upon Jerusalem is a cure for every illness, for it comes from the gardens of Paradise. No one settles in Jerusalem without seventy angels interceding for him.
Allah Most High says to the person buried in Jerusalem, “You dwell beside Me in My abode. Indeed, Paradise is My abode, and none dwells beside Me except one who has been forgiven.”
