The man asked, “And in Jerusalem?” He replied, “It is worth forty thousand prayers.” The man asked, “And in Damascus?” He replied, “It is worth thirty thousand prayers.”

Ibn ‘Abbās—may Allah be pleased with him—said, “Whoever performs Hajj and prays in Medina and al-Aqsā Mosque within a single year emerges free of his sins as on the day his mother bore him.”
