Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbdah al-Tamīmī al-Salīṭī al-Nīsābūrī.
Al-Ḥākim mentioned him, saying: “He belonged to a prosperous household and had listened to a vast number of narrations.”
He studied under Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Būshanjī, Jaʿfar ibn Aḥmad al-Turk, Khashnām ibn Bishr, Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAlī al-Dhuhlī, and others. He performed the pilgrimage in advanced age, and the scholars of Iraq transmitted extensively from him.
He died in Muḥarram of the year 364 AH, at the age of ninety-two.
I say: Those who narrated from him include al-Ḥākim, Abū Saʿd al-Mālīnī, and Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Jārūdī.
Al-Ḥasan ibn al-Khallāl informed us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Lattī related to us; ʿAbd al-Awwal al-Mālīnī related to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad related to us; Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, the ḥadith master, dictated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Salīṭī related to us; Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Būshanjī narrated to us; Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal narrated to us; Yūnus ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; Shaybān narrated to us; Qatādah narrated to us; Anas narrated that a man asked, “O Prophet of Allah, how will the unbeliever be gathered on his face?”
He replied, “Indeed, the One who made him walk on his two feet is able to make him walk on his face.” (1)
We found this report with an elevated chain in the Musnad of ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd, through Yūnus with this very wording.
