right down to Abū Isḥāq al-Marwazī (1). He was born on the very day al-Muzanī died (2). A deep diver into meanings and a meticulous verifier (3), he passed away in 345 AH, while another report gives 344 AH (4).

He lived for seventy-nine years and some months, and was buried on Wednesday beside his mother’s grave. Al-Musabbiḥī recorded these dates.
