Al-Awzaʿī said: ʿĀʾishah related, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought me a cloak that bore the image of an eagle. He placed his hand on it, and Allah caused the image to disappear.” This additional wording, however, has a disconnected chain.
ʿĀṣim narrated—from Zur, from ʿAbd Allah—who said: “I was a young shepherd boy tending the sheep of ʿUqbah ibn Abī Muʿayṭ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by with Abū Bakr and said, ‘Boy, do you have any milk?’ I replied, ‘Yes, but I am entrusted with the flock.’ He said, ‘Bring me a she-goat that no male has yet mounted.’ So I brought him a young she-goat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of it, invoked Allah, and wiped over its udder until it filled with milk. He milked it into a bowl, gave Abū Bakr to drink, and then drank himself. I later came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, ‘Teach me some of this speech.’ He stroked my head and said, ‘You are a boy who will be taught.’ I then learned from him seventy surahs, and no one ever disputed with me about them.” Its chain is sound and strong.
Mālik reported—from Isḥāq ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Abī Ṭalḥah, from Anas—who said: Abū Ṭalḥah said to Umm Sulaym, “I have heard the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sounding weak; I can tell that hunger has overtaken him. Do you have anything?” She answered, “Yes.” She took out a few barley loaves, wrapped them in her head-cover, slipped them under my garment, and sent me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I found him sitting in the mosque with the people around him. I stood before them and he asked, ‘Did Abū Ṭalḥah send you?’ I replied, ‘Yes.’ He then said to those with him, ‘Rise.’ Anas continues: “He set off, and I went on ahead of them until I reached Abū Ṭalḥah and informed him. Abū Ṭalḥah exclaimed, ‘O Umm Sulaym, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has arrived and we have nothing with which to feed them!’ She said, ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ Abū Ṭalḥah then went out until he met
