We read to ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Munʿim al-Ṭāʾī; Abū al-Qāsim ibn al-Ḥarastānī informed us in 609 AH, and I was present. ʿAlī ibn al-Musallam the jurist informed us; al-Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad al-Khaṭīb informed us; Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Ghassānī related to us; ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad, in Baghdad, related to us; al-ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad related to us; Azhar al-Sammān narrated, from Ibn ʿAwn, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“O Allah, bless our Syria; O Allah, bless our Yemen.”
They asked, “And our Najd?” He replied, “There are the earthquakes and tribulations, and there—or he said: from there—the horn of Satan shall rise.” (2)
This ḥadīth has an authentic chain and is singular in transmission.
