= Aisha. Regarding the phrase li-arabihi, it is transmitted with two vocalisations: arabihi, with a fat-ha on the initial alif and on the ra; and irbihi, with a kasra on the alif and the ra left quiescent. Both forms carry the same meaning, namely a person’s need or desire. One may say: "So-and-so has an arab (or irb, irbah, maʾrabah) with someone," meaning “a need.” Al-arab can also denote a bodily limb.
