Jamīl al-Iṣbahānī.
He transmitted from Aḥmad ibn Manīʿ—specifically through the latter’s Musnad.
Those who narrated from him were Abū al-Qāsim al-Ṭabarānī, Abū Bakr ibn al-Muqriʾ, and his grandson ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Yaʿqūb ibn Isḥāq.
Ibn Mardawayh said: “I heard ʿUbayd Allāh state that his grandfather lived for one hundred and seventeen years and died in 313 AH.”
I (the author) remark: If this report concerning his birth is sound, then he did not begin to hear hadith until he was already in his maturity.
Abū Nuʿaym the ḥāfiẓ (1) said that he died in 310 AH.

The hadith scholar, truthful, and long-lived: Abū ʿUmar ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān al-Umawī, known as al-ʿUthmānī of Baghdad.
He was characterized as reliable.
He heard (hadith) from ʿAlī ibn al-Madīnī and ʿAbd al-Aʿlā ibn Ḥammād.
Among those who narrated from him are Muḥammad ibn al-Muẓaffar, Abū ʿUmar ibn Ḥayyūyah, Abū Ḥafṣ ibn Shāhīn, and others.
He was one of the last Musnad transmitters in Baghdad.
He remained alive until 310 AH.
I know of no criticism against him.
In that same year died Muḥammad ibn Jarīr, Abū Shaybah Dāwūd ibn Ibrāhīm, and Abū Bishr
