The second of the two fascicles deals with purification and the Friday congregational prayer. In his day al-Būṣīrī alone possessed a particularly elevated chain for them, and Aḥmad ibn Abī al-Khayr has transmitted both to me from al-Būṣīrī, so that only five transmitters separate me from al-Nasāʾī in that chain.

Abū ʿAlī the ḥāfiẓ said: I asked al-Nasāʾī, ‘What is your opinion of Baqiyyah?’ He replied, ‘If he explicitly says “ḥaddathanā” or “akhbaranā,” then he is reliable.’
