of Allah ﷺ was about to march out to Khaybar, so I asked him to give me time until I should return, thinking, “Perhaps we will come back with some booty.” The Jew then brought me before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said—twice—“Give him what is due to him.” Whenever he repeated a command three times, no one would argue with him.
I had a waist-wrap on and a head-band around my head. When I left, I said to the Jew, “Buy this waist-wrap from me,” and he bought it for the very dirhams that I owed him (1).
