- Ibn Musāwir—Abū Jaʿfar Aḥmad ibn al-Qāsim al-Jawharī*
He was an imām, a ḥāfiẓ, and a trustworthy authority. His full name is Abū Jaʿfar Aḥmad ibn al-Qāsim ibn Musāwir al-Baghdādī al-Jawharī.
He narrated from ʿAffān ibn Muslim, Khālid ibn Khidāsh, ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd, and others of their rank.
Among those who transmitted from him were ʿAbd al-Bāqī ibn Qāniʿ, Aḥmad ibn Kāmil, Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Ḥubaysh, Sulaymān al-Ṭabarānī, and many others.
Aḥmad ibn al-Munādī told me, “He copied down fifteen thousand hadiths from ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd.” (7)
He (al-Munādī) also said that Ibn Musāwir died in Muḥarram of the year 293 AH.
