Then al-Ḥākim, in his biography of al-Ḥusayn, quoted a dozen or so singular reports, among them a baseless ḥadīth which he traced back to Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab—who said: “Al-Awzāʿī narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever lifts a burden from a believer, Allah will grant him on the Day of Resurrection two branches of light upon the ṣirāṭ (the Bridge), by which so many people will be illumined that none can number them but the Lord of Majesty.’ (1)
Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn Hāniʾ said: Al-Ḥusayn passed away in Shaʿbān of the year 282 AH, at the age of one hundred and four, and Muḥammad ibn al-Naḍr al-Jārūdī led the funeral prayer over him.
- Al-Dabarī, Abū Yaʿqūb Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbbād
The shaykh, scholar, accredited transmitter, and truthful narrator: Abū Yaʿqūb Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbbād al-Ṣanʿānī al-Dabarī, the principal transmitter of ʿAbd al-Razzāq’s writings. He heard ʿAbd al-Razzāq’s compilations from him in 210 AH through his father’s diligence, while he was still a youth—for, as al-Khalīlī reports, he was born in 195 AH—and his audition is sound.
Those who narrated from him include: Abū ʿAwānah al-Isfarāʾīnī in his Ṣaḥīḥ, Khaythamah ibn Sulaymān, Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Ḥamzah al-Ḥammāl, and Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah
