The imam and hadith master, compiler of the book al-Dībāj—which is transmitted by Abū al-Qāsim—Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Khāzim ibn Sunayn al-Khutulī, a long-time resident of Baghdad.

He heard ḥadith from ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd, Abū Naṣr al-Tammār, Kāmil ibn Ṭalḥah, Dāwūd ibn ʿUmar al-Ḍabbī, Hishām ibn ʿAmmār, and others of their generation in Iraq, Syria, and al-Jazīrah.

Among those who reported from him are: Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr al-Razzāz, Abū Sahl ibn Ziyād, Abū ʿAmr ibn al-Sammāk, Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī, and others.
