Ibn Khirāsh and other critics declared him reliable. I say: he passed away in Jumāda al-Ūlā of the year 275 AH. A small fascicle of his narrations has reached me (1). In that same year there also died: Abū Bakr al-Marwazī (2), al-Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Maʿshar (3), Yaḥyā ibn Abī Ṭālib (4), and Abū ʿAwf ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Marzūq al-Buzūrī (5).
27 – Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn Abī al-Khaybarī al-Kūfī
The ḥadith scholar, long-lived and truthful authority, Abū Isḥāq al-ʿAbsī, the fuller from Kufa.
He heard ḥadith from Wakīʿ ibn al-Jarrāḥ—who was the last of his circle—Jaʿfar ibn ʿAwn, ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsā, al-ʿAbbās ibn al-Walīd al-Ḍabbī, and others.
Those who narrated from him include Abū al-Ḥasan Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Aswārī, ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mātī, Qāsim ibn Aṣbagh al-Andalusī, Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Aṣamm, Abū Saʿīd ibn al-Aʿrābī, Khaythamah ibn Sulaymān, and many others.
He is truthful, and his narrations are acceptable.
