13 – Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Ismāʿīl al-Baghdādī *
A ḥāfiẓ, reliable authority, Abū Isḥāq al-Baghdādī, later resident of Nīshāpūr. He heard ḥadith from Yazīd ibn Hārūn, Ḥajjāj ibn Muḥammad, Abū al-Naḍr, Yaḥyā ibn Abī Bukayr, and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abān.
Those who narrated from him include al-Bukhārī, Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Ṭālib, Ibn Khuzaymah, Abū Ḥāmid ibn al-Sharqī, Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Qaṭṭān, and others. We possess his reports with an elevated isnād through al-Silafī’s route.
He died at the beginning of the year 265 AH, and he had probably passed the age of eighty—may Allah have mercy on him.
