By this same chain, Muslim narrated to us; Ahmad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Yunus narrated to us; ʿAsim ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from his father, who said that ʿAbd Allah said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “This authority shall remain with Quraysh for as long as two people remain among humankind.” (1)
I read this before Zaynab bint ʿUmar ibn Kindi, from al-Muʾayyad, and al-Qasim ibn Abi Bakr al-Irbilī (2) informed us; al-Muʾayyad informed us; al-Farāwī informed us; ʿAbd al-Ghāfir informed us; Ibn ʿAmrawayh informed us; Ibn Sufyān narrated to us; I heard Muslim; ʿAbd Allah ibn Maslamah (3) narrated to us; Aflah ibn Humayd narrated to us, from al-Qasim, from ʿĀʾishah, who said:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I used to bathe from a single vessel, dipping our hands into it alternately while we were in a state of major ritual impurity.” (4)
Section: Muslim recorded a narration for ʿAdiyy ibn ʿUmayrah al-Kindī, yet no one transmitted from him except Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim.
He also recorded for Quṭbah ibn Mālik, and the only one who narrated from him was Ziyād ibn ʿIlāqah.
Likewise, he recorded for Ṭāriq ibn Ashyam, and none transmitted from him except his son Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī.
And he recorded for Nabīshah al-Khayr, and no one transmitted from him other than Abū al-Malīḥ al-Hudhalī.
We have cited these names in refutation of al-Ḥākim’s claim that the two Shaykhs narrated only from someone who had at least two transmitters or more.
