Ibn Abī Ḥātim said: “My father heard from him, and he is reliable.” (1)
Al-Aṣamm said: “I asked him about his age and he replied, ‘I am ninety-four. I met Ibn ʿUyaynah in 192 AH when I performed the pilgrimage, but the crowds around him were so large that I did not record anything from him.’”
ʿAmr ibn Duḥaym said: “He died in Rabīʿ al-Awwal 270 AH, and he had been born in 173 AH.”
I add: he left behind a fascicle with a notably short chain; we heard it from the companions of Abū al-Qāsim ibn Rawāḥa.
Sulaymān ibn Qaymāz al-Kāfūrī, ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Karīm al-Anṣārī, and Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Ṣābūnī informed us, saying:
ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥusayn informed us (ḥ).
Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī and Jaʿfar ibn ʿAlī also informed us; they said:
Abū Ṭāhir al-Silafī told us; Makkī ibn Manṣūr told us; Muḥammad ibn Mūsā told us; Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Aṣamm narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn Hishām narrated to us; Marwān ibn Muʿāwiyah narrated to us; Ḥumayd narrated from Anas, who said:
“Hāritha was struck down on the Day of Badr. His mother came and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, you know how dear Hāritha was to me. If he is in Paradise, I will be patient, but if it is otherwise, you will see what I do.’
He replied, ‘One Garden only?! Rather, there are many gardens, and he is in the Highest Firdaws.’” (2)
