His marriage ﷺ to Maymunah:

Yunus ibn Bukayr related—from Ibn Ishaq—who said: Aban ibn Salih and ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Najih told me, on the authority of Mujahid and ‘Ata’, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Maymunah, and the one who concluded the marriage contract for him was al-‘Abbas. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then stayed in Mecca for three days. Huwaytib ibn ‘Abd al-‘Uzza came to him with a group from Quraysh and said, “Your allotted time has expired; leave our city.” He replied, “If you would only let me celebrate my wedding among you, we could prepare a meal and you could attend it.” They answered, “We have no desire for that.” So he departed, leaving his freedman Abu Rafi‘ in charge of Maymunah until he brought her to him at Sarif, whereupon he consummated the marriage with her.

Wahib narrated—from Ayyub, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas—that the Prophet ﷺ married Maymunah while he was in ihram (the state of consecration), consummated the marriage after he had exited ihram, and that she died at Sarif. Al-Bukhari recorded this report.

‘Abd al-Razzaq said: al-Thawri told me, “Do not pay heed to the opinion of the people of Medina. ‘Amr narrated to me, from Abu al-Sha‘tha’, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ contracted the marriage while in ihram.” Al-Thawri also transmitted it through Ibn Khuthaym, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas; both versions are found in the Sahih.

Al-Awza‘i said: ‘Ata’ narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that the Prophet ﷺ married Maymunah while he was in ihram. Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyab remarked, “Even though she was his aunt? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not marry her until after he had left the state of ihram.”
