They state that Ziyād ibn Ayyūb passed away in Rabīʿ al-Awwal of the year 252 AH.
I add: his aʿālī (high-level isnāds) are preserved in the Maḥāmiliyyāt.
I recited to ʿAbd al-Khāliq ibn ʿAbd al-Salām, the judge of Baalbek: “Imām Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad related to you in 611 AH; he said: ‘Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Bājisrāʾī (1) informed us; Naṣr ibn Aḥmad al-Qārī informed us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd Allāh informed us; Ḥusayn ibn Ismāʿīl the judge dictated to us; Ziyād ibn Ayyūb narrated to us; Hushaym narrated to us; Yaʿlā ibn ʿAṭāʾ narrated to us; ʿUmārah ibn Ḥadīd reported to us from Ṣakhr al-Ghāmidī, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘O Allah, bless my community in the early part of the day.’
Whenever he dispatched a detachment or an army, he would send them off at the beginning of the day.
Ṣakhr was a merchant. He too used to send out his merchandise early in the day, and he became affluent and his wealth increased.’
This ḥadīth is ḥasan (2) and singular; al-Tirmidhī stated that. He recorded it through the chain of Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm, while Abū Dāwūd transmitted it from Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr, and al-Qazwīnī from Abū Bakr ibn
