Those who transmitted from him include al-Bukhārī, Muslim, al-Nasāʾī, Abū Zurʿah, Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Ṭālib, al-Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad al-Qabbānī, Jaʿfar al-Firyābī, Ibn Khuzaymah, Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Sarrāj, and many others.
Al-Nasāʾī said, “He is trustworthy and reliable; of all the people from whom we have written, scarcely anyone matches him.”
Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Ṭālib stated, “No one who visited us in Nīshāpūr was more exacting or more proficient than he.”
Abū Ḥātim ibn Ḥibbān remarked, “He is the one who made the Sunnah manifest in Sarakhs and summoned the people to it.”
Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad al-Dhuhalī said, “Abū Qudāmah was an imam, virtuous and upright.”
Al-Bukhārī recorded that Abū Qudāmah died in 241 AH; others add that it was in Firabr.
Through an elevated chain I possess one of his narrations found in ‘The Description of the Hypocrite.’
