I recorded from Abu Nuʿaym in the year 185 AH.
I copied about ten thousand narrations from Ibn Mahdi.
We wrote down Ghundar’s hadith ʿalā al-wajh (verbatim); he gave us the notebooks, and we would copy from them.

“I heard from ʿAbbad ibn ʿAbbad in the year 180 AH, and from al-Tufawi in the year 181 AH.
I wrote down five hadiths from Mubashshir al-Halabi in the mosque of Aleppo; we had set out for Tarsus on foot.
I have transmitted a great deal from ʿUmar ibn Harun, yet I do not relate anything from him.”

I likewise heard my father say: Umm ʿUmar, daughter of Hassan, narrated to us from her father, who said: ‘I entered the mosque and found ʿAli ibn Abi Talib on the pulpit, saying: “The likeness of me…”’”
