Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā al-Farrāʾ narrated to us; ʿĪsā ibn Yūnus informed us; Mūsā ibn ʿUbaydah narrated to us; Ayyūb ibn Khālid informed me, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rāfiʿ, from Abū Hurayrah—
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The Promised Day is the Day of Resurrection; the witnessing day is Friday; and the witnessed day is the Day of ʿArafah.”
This ḥadith was also recorded by al-Tirmidhī (1).
52 – Muḥammad ibn Mihrān al-Jammāl* (B, M, D)
A ḥāfiẓ, trustworthy, widely-travelled, and prolific transmitter; he is Abū Jaʿfar al-Rāzī.
He narrated from: Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ, Marḥūm ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad al-Darāwardī, Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah, Ḥātim ibn Ismāʿīl, Jarīr ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd, ʿAttāb ibn Bashīr, ʿĪsā ibn Yūnus, Mulāzim ibn ʿAmr, Miskīn ibn Bukayr, ʿAṭāʾ ibn Muslim, al-Walīd ibn Muslim, ʿAbd al-Razzāq, Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān, and many others of comparable or lesser rank.
Those who transmitted from him include: al-Bukhārī, Muslim, Abū Dāwūd, Abū Zurʿah, Abū Ḥātim, Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Abbār, Mūsā ibn Hārūn, Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī ibn Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Rāzī, al-Ḥasan ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Rāzī, and Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm.
