Al-Bukhārī likewise transmitted—through ʿAbd Allāh—from him. This ʿAbd Allāh, in my view, is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī al-Khawārizmī the judge, for al-Bukhārī stayed with him for a time, examined his books, and quoted him in several places of his Large Book on Weak Narrators.
A high-isnād report of Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān has also come down to me.
Abū Zurʿah al-Dimashqī and a number of others said that he died in 233 AH. Ibn Duḥaym added: it was on a Wednesday, with one night remaining of Ṣafar. Abū Zurʿah said: I attended the funeral, and Mālik ibn Ṭawq—the emir who built the city of al-Raḥbah—led the prayer over him. Abū Sulaymān ibn Zabr stated that he passed away at the age of eighty.
As for Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥammād al-Taymī, son of ʿImrān ibn Mūsā ibn Ṭalḥah ibn (1) ʿUbayd Allāh al-Taymī, al-Ṭalḥī, the Kūfan date-seller, he narrated from his father. His kunya was Abū Dāwūd, and those who reported from him include Abū Dāwūd, Abū Zurʿah, and Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim. He died in 252 AH.
We were informed by Abū al-Fidāʾ Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Farrāʾ; Abū Muḥammad ibn Qudāmah narrated to us; Abū al-Fatḥ ibn al-Baṭṭī informed us; and Abū al-Ḥasan ibn Ayyūb conveyed to us
