Shaykh al-Islam, Shams al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad al-Maqdisī, recorded in his book: ʿUmar ibn Muḥammad al-Muʿallim informed us; Hibat Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Shaybānī informed us; Abū Ṭālib ibn Ghailān informed us; Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Bazzār informed us; Bishr ibn Mūsā narrated to us; Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr narrated to us; Sufyān narrated from Ibn Abī Khālid, from Ḥakīm ibn Jābir, from his father. He said:
“I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and found him eating some food that contained squash. I asked, ‘What is this, O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied, ‘We augment our food with it.’”
Al-Nasāʾī and al-Qazwīnī (1) also transmitted it through several chains from Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, from Ḥakīm, from his father—Jābir ibn Ḥakīm, or Ibn Ṭāriq al-Aḥmasī—and the chain is sound.

Aḥmad ibn Salāmah also related to me, from this same Abū Jaʿfar: Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥaddād informed us; Abū Nuʿaym the ḥāfiẓ informed us; Abū Aḥmad Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Isḥāq al-Anmāṭī at ʿAskar narrated to us; Aḥmad ibn Sahl—namely, Ibn Ayyūb al-Ahwāzī—narrated to us; Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr narrated to us; from Ḥafṣ ibn Maysarah; from al-ʿAlāʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān; from his father; from Abū Hurayrah, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The son of Adam says, ‘My wealth!
