Abū Musʿir narrated to us, from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz:
Ibn ʿUmar said: “Renewing ablution while one is still in a state of ablution earns ten good deeds.”
I read this before Aḥmad ibn Tāj al-Umanāʾ; Makram ibn Muḥammad al-Qurashī will convey it to you; Hamzah ibn ʿAlī al-Thaʿlabī informed us; al-Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad ibn Abī al-Ḥadīd related it to us in the year 482 AH (ḥ).
Aḥmad ibn Hibat Allah and his cousin ʿAbd al-Munʿim also informed us; they said:
Abū Ṭālib Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Ṣābir, together with Ibrāhīm and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz—the two sons of Barakāt al-Khushūʿī—told us; they said:
Abū al-Maʿālī ibn Ṣābir informed us; likewise Abū al-Qāsim al-Nasīb, Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn al-Mawāzinī and his brother Abū al-Faḍl, Abū Ṭāhir al-Ḥinnāʾī (1), Abū al-Qāsim al-Kilābī, and ʿAlī ibn Ṭāhir al-Naḥwī—all of them said:
Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Sulwān al-Māzinī informed us; Abū al-Faḍl ibn Jaʿfar, the muʾadhdhin, informed us; Abū Bakr ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Qāsim al-Hāshimī narrated to us; Abū Musʿir narrated to us; Muʿāwiyah ibn Sallām narrated to us; I heard my grandfather Abū Salām relate from Kaʿb al-Aḥbār, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever, in one day, says Subḥānallāhi wa bi-ḥamdih (‘Glory be to Allah and praise is His’) two hundred times, his sins will be forgiven even if they are like the foam of the sea.”
This report is mursal and the chain is broken, for Abū Salām never met Kaʿb (2).
And in the History of Abū Zurʿah it is recorded: I said to Abū Musʿir, “Did Muʿāwiyah ibn Sallām hear… ”
