who entered it were the poor; and I stood at the gate of Hell, and saw that the majority of those who entered it were women.”
This report was recorded by al-Bukhari and Muslim through several chains from al-Taymi.
207 – Yaḥyā ibn Kathīr ibn Dirham, Abū Ghassān al-Anbarī (ʿ), their freedman, a Basran ḥāfiẓ.
He narrated from Qurrah, Shuʿbah, ʿAlī ibn al-Mubārak, Sulaym ibn Akhḍar, and ʿUmar ibn al-ʿAlāʾ al-Māzinī.
Those who reported from him include Bundār, al-Fallas, Abū Bakr al-Aʿyan, al-Kudaymī, Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Abī al-ʿAwām, and others.
Abū Ḥātim said: “Ṣāliḥ al-ḥadīth.” (2)
Al-Nasāʾī said: “There is nothing objectionable about him.”
I add: He died in 205 or 206 AH.

يَدْخُلُهَا المَسَاكِيْنُ، وَقُمْتُ عَلَى بَابِ النَّارِ، فَإِذَا عَامَّةُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُهَا النِّسَاءُ) .

٢٠٧ - يَحْيَى بنُ كَثِيْرِ بنِ دِرْهَمٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ العَنْبَرِيُّ (ع)
مَوْلاَهُمْ، البَصْرِيُّ، الحَافِظُ.
عَنْ: قُرَّةَ، وَشُعْبَةَ، وَعَلِيِّ بنِ المُبَارَكِ، وَسُلَيْمِ بنِ أَخْضَرَ، وَعُمَرَ بنِ العَلاَءِ المَازِنِيِّ.
وَعَنْهُ: بُنْدَارُ، وَالفَلاَّسُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الأَعْيَنُ، وَالكُدَيْمِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بنُ أَحْمَدَ بنِ أَبِي العَوَّامِ، وَآخَرُوْنَ.
قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ: صَالِحُ الحَدِيْثِ (٢) .
وَقَالَ النَّسَائِيُّ: لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ.
قُلْتُ: مَاتَ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ، أَوْ سِتٍّ وَمائَتَيْنِ.
