It further reads: “Henna applied after the nūra (lime depilatory) is protection from leprosy.”
Another report states: “Whenever the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—sneezed, ʿAlī would say to him, ‘May Allah exalt your renown,’ and whenever ʿAlī sneezed, the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—would say to him, ‘May Allah raise your rank.’ ”
All such narrations are spurious ḥadīths and outright falsehoods forged by the misguided (1).
ʿAlī ibn Mūsā has a shrine in Ṭūs which people visit. It is said that he died by poisoning. Abū ʿAbd Allah al-Ḥākim reports: “ʿAlī ibn Mūsā was martyred at Sanābādh (2), near Ṭūs, nine days before the end of Ramadan in the year 203 AH; he was forty-nine years and six months old.” It is also said that he left the following children: Muḥammad, al-Ḥasan, Jaʿfar, Ibrāhīm, al-Ḥusayn, and ʿĀʾishah.
