Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from ʿAlqamah, from Khalid ibn al-Walid, who said:
“There was something between ʿAmmar and me, so he went off to complain to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I only became harsher toward him while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent. ʿAmmar burst into tears and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, do you not see what he is doing?’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then raised his head and said, ‘Whoever hates ʿAmmar, Allah hates him; and whoever shows enmity to ʿAmmar, Allah shows enmity to him.’”
He (Khalid) continued, “I left, and nothing was dearer to me than to secure ʿAmmar’s satisfaction. I met him, and he was pleased.” (1)
With this same chain up to Yaʿqub: ʿAmr ibn Marzuq narrated to us; Shuʿbah narrated to us; from Salamah ibn Kuhayl; from Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Yazid; from his father; from al-Aswad, who said:
“There was a dispute between Khalid and ʿAmmar, so Khalid complained about him to the Prophet ﷺ. He ﷺ said, ‘Whoever opposes ʿAmmar, Allah opposes him; whoever hates ʿAmmar, Allah hates him; and whoever reviles ʿAmmar, Allah will revile him.’” (2)
Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Hamid informed us; Abu Muhammad ʿAbd Allah ibn Ahmad and ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim informed us—they said: Shuhdah informed us; Abu ʿAbd Allah al-Niʿāli informed us; ʿAli ibn Muhammad informed us; Muhammad ibn ʿAmr al-Razzaz informed us; Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Daqiqi narrated to us; Yazid narrated to us; Sharik narrated to us, from Simak, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbas:
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever owns a piece of land and wishes to sell it, let him first offer it to his neighbor.” (3)
