Al-ʿUqaylī said: al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Dhāriʿ narrated to us; Abū Dāwūd narrated to us, saying, “Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim and ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Thaqafī became confused, so people were kept away from them.”
Among the isolated narrations of ʿAbd al-Wahhāb is his report from Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq, from his father, from Jābir, traced back to the Prophet: “He judged on the basis of an oath together with a single witness.”
Mālik, al-Qaṭṭān, and many others have also transmitted it from Jaʿfar, on the authority of his father, as a mursal report⦗1⦘.
Aḥmad ibn Isḥāq informed us; Muḥammad ibn Hibat Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Dīnāwarī in Baghdad informed us; my uncle Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz informed us in the year 539 AH; ʿĀṣim ibn al-Ḥasan informed us (ḥ).
Aḥmad ibn Muʾmin, Aḥmad ibn al-ʿImād, Muḥammad ibn Biṭṭīkh, and ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Aḥmad likewise informed us, saying: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Najm informed us (ḥ).
Khadījah bint ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm informed us—both said: Shuhdah the Scribe informed us; Abū ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṭalḥah informed us—and so did ʿĀṣim—saying: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mahdī al-Fārisī informed us; al-Ḥusayn ibn Ismāʿīl al-Maḥāmilī dictated to us; Muḥammad ibn al-Walīd narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Thaqafī narrated to us; Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ narrated to us; from Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī; from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī:
that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O ʿAbd Allāh, shall I teach you a phrase that is one of the treasures of Paradise: lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā—”
