Abū Zurʿah and al-Nasāʾī said, “Reliable.”
Abū Ḥātim remarked, “Truthful, though he is beneath Zāʾidah and Zuhayr in precision; Sharīk and Abū ʿAwānah are preferable to me.”
Abū Ḥātim was asked about Abū al-Aḥwaṣ and Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh and replied, “It matters not with which of the two you begin.”
ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī al-Aswad and others said, “Abū al-Aḥwaṣ, Mālik, and Ḥammād ibn Zayd all died in the year 179 AH.”
Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Salām al-Tamīmī reported to us—through ʿAbd al-Muʿizz ibn Muḥammad, Tamīm ibn Abī Saʿīd, Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, Abū ʿAmr ibn Ḥamdān, and Abū Yaʿlā al-Mawṣilī—who said: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us, Abū al-Aḥwaṣ narrated to us, from Simāk, from Mūsā ibn Ṭalḥah, from his father, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When any one of you prays, let him place before himself something like the back end of a saddle, then pray; and let him not worry about whoever passes beyond that.”
Muslim recorded it ⦗1⦘ through Abū Bakr.
ʿAbd al-Ḥāfiẓ ibn Badrān told us—through Mūsā, Ibn al-Bannāʾ, ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad, Abū Ṭāhir al-Mukhalliṣ, Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad, and Luwayn—who said: Abū al-Aḥwaṣ narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from Burayd ibn Abī Maryam, from Anas, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times, Paradise says, ‘O Allah, admit him into Paradise.’ And whoever seeks refuge with Allah from the Fire, the Fire says, ‘O Allah, protect him from the Fire.’” ⦗2⦘
