so I informed him, and he accepted it and passed judgment on its basis.
We have also transmitted the report with an isnād that is higher by several levels: Aḥmad ibn Hibat Allāh—from al-Muʾayyad ibn Muḥammad—related to us; Hibatu Allāh ibn Sahl related to us; Saʿīd ibn Muḥammad related to us; Zāhir ibn Aḥmad related to us; Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us; Abū Muṣʿab narrated to us; Mālik conveyed it with the same wording.
Through my chain to Ibn Makhlad: Zakariyyā ibn Yaḥyā al-Nāqid narrated to us; Khālid ibn Khidāsh narrated to us; Ḥammād ibn Zayd narrated to us; from Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd; from Mālik ibn Anas; from al-Zuhrī; from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī; from his father; from ʿAlī—that the Prophet ﷺ forbade mutʿa (temporary marriage) with women on the Day of Khaybar.
Ḥammād added, “Mālik and Maʿmar likewise narrated it to us with this same isnād.”
We also received it with an elevated chain through Sunqur al-Zaynī in Aleppo. Al-Muwaffaq ʿAbd al-Laṭīf, Anjab al-Ḥammāmī, ʿAbd al-Laṭīf al-Qubbaīṭī, Muḥammad ibn al-Sabbāk and others said:
Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Bāqī informed us; Mālik al-Bānyāsī informed us; Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ṣalt informed us; Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad informed us; Abū Muṣʿab al-Zuhrī informed us; from Mālik; from Ibn Shihāb; from ʿAbd Allāh and al-Ḥasan, the two sons of Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī; from their father; from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib:
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade mutʿa (temporary marriage) with women on the Day of Khaybar, and the eating of the meat of domesticated donkeys (1).
