The Muwaṭṭaʾ likewise contains several mursal traditions transmitted from al-Zuhrī, Yaḥyā al-Anṣārī, and Hishām ibn ʿUrwah.

Imām al-Dāraquṭnī compiled the partial isnāds (1) of all those narrations in a large treatise, providing a thorough and lucid exposition. I myself once set apart the names of everyone who narrated from him in a sizeable register that approaches one thousand four hundred individuals. Let us now mention the most notable of them:

Among his teachers who reported from him are: his uncle Abū Suhayl; Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr; al-Zuhrī; Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd; Yazīd ibn al-Hād; Zayd ibn Abī Unaysah; ʿUmar ibn Muḥammad ibn Zayd; and others.

His contemporaries include: Maʿmar; Ibn Jurayj; Abū Ḥanīfah; ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith; al-Awzāʿī; Shuʿbah; al-Thawrī; Juwayriyah ibn Asmāʾ; al-Layth; Ḥammād ibn Zayd; many others; Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar; Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah; ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak; al-Darāwardī; Ibn Abī al-Zinād; Ibn ʿUlayyah; Yaḥyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah; Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī; Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan the jurist; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Qāsim; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī; Maʿn ibn ʿĪsā al-Qazzāz; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb; Abū Qurrah Mūsā ibn Ṭāriq; al-Nuʿmān ibn ʿAbd al-Salām; Wakīʿ; al-Walīd ibn Muslim; Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān; Isḥāq ibn Sulaymān al-Rāzī; Anas ibn ʿIyāḍ al-Laythī; Ḍamrah ibn Rabīʿah; Umayyah ibn Khālid; and Bishr ibn al-Sarī.
