ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz was present, he would say, “Ask Abū Muḥammad.”
Abū Zurʿah al-Dimashqī said: Some of our teachers related to us from al-Walīd ibn Muslim, who said:
“Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz would spend the entire night in worship; when dawn broke he renewed his ablution and went out to the mosque.”
Yazīd ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated: Abū Mushir said, “I never saw Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz laugh, smile, or complain about anything at all.”
Abū Zurʿah also quoted Abū Mushir as saying:
“A man ought to confine himself to the knowledge of his own land and to the learning of its scholar. As for me, I have limited myself to Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz; with him I have no need of anyone else.”
Yaḥyā al-Wuḥāẓī said: “I asked Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz about a ḥadith, but he declined to narrate it to me; he could be difficult.” Abū Mushir reported the same about him.

ʿAbbās al-Dūrī related from Yaḥyā ibn Maʿīn, who said:

Abū Zurʿah al-Dimashqī said: I heard Abū Mushir say:
“I saw our companions read to Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz the ḥadith of the Miʿrāj, transmitted by Yazīd ibn Abī Mālik from Anas. I said to him, ‘Abū Muḥammad, did you not narrate it to us from Yazīd ibn Abī Mālik?’ He replied, ‘Our companions have narrated it from Anas ibn Mālik?’ I said, ‘Yes, but they are only testifying on their own behalf.’”
Abū Mushir added: “I heard him say, ‘I do not know—why I do not know—half…’
