He narrated from ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr, Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, Thumāmah ibn ʿAbd Allāh, and a number of others.
Those who transmitted from him include Shuʿbah—despite Shuʿbah’s seniority—, Ibn Mahdī, Abū Dāwūd, Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī, Abū Salamah al-Tabūdhakī, ʿAffān, Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Anṣārī, and others.
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad al-Tannūrī relates from him: “ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz and I were born in the same month.”
Ibn Maʿīn and other critics said, “Reliable.”
Abū Ḥātim said, “There is nothing wrong with his ḥadith.”
I (the author) say: I think he lived one hundred years.
