An eminent imam and judge from Basra, known as Abū Salama al-Nājī.
He transmitted hadith from ʿIkrimah, al-Qāsim, ʿAṭāʾ, Abū al-Ḍuḥā, and several others.
Those who narrated from him include Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān, Yazīd ibn Hārūn, al-Naḍr ibn Shumayl, Rūḥ, Abū ʿĀṣim, and others.
Abū Dāwūd said: “He served as the judge of Basra for five years (2), and every evening he would carry fine rice flour in his wrapper.”
Abū Ḥātim remarked: “Weak, yet his ḥadith are written down.”
Ibn Maʿīn said: “He, together with ʿAbbād ibn Kathīr (3) and ʿAbbād ibn Rāshid (4), their narrations are not strong.”
Ibn Ḥibbān stated: “A Qadarite and an active propagandist; everything he reports from ʿIkrimah he actually heard from…"

أَبْلَقَ، عَلَيْهِ قَطِيْفَةٌ مِنْ سُنْدُسٍ (١)) .

وَقِيْلَ: سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَخَمْسِيْنَ.
٤٥ - عَبَّادُ بنُ مَنْصُوْرٍ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ النَّاجِيُّ البَصْرِيُّ * (٤)
الإِمَامُ، القَاضِي، أَبُو سَلَمَةَ النَّاجِيُّ، البَصْرِيُّ.
عَنْ: عِكْرِمَةَ، وَالقَاسِمِ، وَعَطَاءٍ، وَأَبِي الضُّحَى، وَعِدَّةٍ.
وَعَنْهُ: يَحْيَى القَطَّانُ، وَيَزِيْدُ بنُ هَارُوْنَ، وَالنَّضْرُ بنُ شُمَيْلٍ، وَرَوْحٌ، وَأَبُو عَاصِمٍ، وَآخَرُوْنَ.
قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: وَلِيَ قَضَاءَ البَصْرَةِ خَمْسَ سِنِيْنَ (٢) ، وَكَانَ يَأْخُذُ دَقِيْقَ الأَرُزِّ فِي إِزَارِهِ كُلَّ عَشِيَّةٍ.
وَقَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ: ضَعِيْفٌ، يُكْتَبُ حَدِيْثُهُ.
وَقَالَ ابْنُ مَعِيْنٍ: هُوَ، وَعَبَّادُ بنُ كَثِيْرٍ (٣) ، وَعَبَّادُ بنُ رَاشِدٍ (٤) ، لَيْسَ حَدِيْثُهُم بِالقَوِيِّ.
وَقَالَ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ: قَدَرِيٌّ، دَاعِيَةٌ، كُلُّ مَا رَوَى عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ
