Among them is:
32 – Ḥajjāj ibn Ḥassān al-Qaysī, a Basran whose reliability is unobjectionable.
He narrated from Anas, Abū Mijlaz, and ʿIkrimah, and his chain of transmission descends as far as Muqātil ibn Ḥayyān. Those who transmitted from him include Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān, Yazīd, Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm, and several others. He remained alive until roughly 160 AH.
In Abū Dāwūd’s collection of mursal reports, through Muqātil, it is related that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If a man comes and finds no one present, let him pull someone out of the row and have him stand with him; how tremendous is the reward of the one who pulls!”
I say: it is not merely mursal; it is in fact muʿḍal. ⦗2⦘
Among them is also:
33 – Ḥajjāj ibn Dīnār al-Wāsiṭī (Abū Dāwūd, al-Tirmidhī, Ibn Mājah).
He narrated from al-Ḥakam ibn ʿUtaybah, al-Bāqir, and several others, and Isrāʾīl, Ibn Fuḍayl, Muḥammad ibn Bishr, and others narrated from him. His status is ḥasan (acceptable).
