This is a lofty isnād, but there is a break in it.
Abū al-Maʿālī Aḥmad ibn al-Muʾayyad informed us; Zakariyyā ibn ʿAlī ibn Ḥassān likewise narrated to us.
Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad, and a group also reported, saying:
“Abū al-Munajjī ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar narrated to us.” They both said:
“ʿAbd al-Awwal ibn ʿĪsā narrated to us, who said:
‘Umm al-Faḍl Bībā bint ʿAbd al-Ṣamad al-Harthamiyyah informed us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Aḥmad al-Anṣārī narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; Muṣʿab ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; Mālik told me, from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from Jābir:
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood on al-Ṣafā, he would say the takbīr three times and declare, “There is no deity except Allah, alone without partner; to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over every thing Powerful.” He would do this three times and would do the same on al-Marwah.
When he came down from al-Ṣafā he walked, but when his feet reached the bottom of the valley he would run until he had crossed it.’”
Muslim recorded it (1).
By this same chain to ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Aḥmad, Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Fulayḥ, the Qur’an-reciter in Mecca, narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Maymūn al-Qaddāḥ narrated to us, from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “A believer does not truly believe until he believes in predestination in its entirety—until he knows that whatever has befallen him could never have missed him, and whatever has missed him could never have befallen him.” (2)
This is a singular (gharīb) ḥadīth containing irregularity; al-Qaddāḥ alone transmitted it. Al-Bukhārī said: “His ḥadīth is worthless.”
Abū ʿĪsā also recorded it from Ziyād ibn Yaḥyā on his authority, so that version appears with an elevated chain instead.
