He also related that ʿĀʾishah once saw a discharge the colour of safflower water and remarked, “It seems that this is the very condition So-and-so used to experience.” (1)
Al-Bukhārī reproduced this report, citing it from Ibn Shāhīn.
91 – Abū Isḥāq al-Shaybānī, Sulaymān ibn Abī Sulaymān * (ʿA)
Fayrūz was his given name, although some said Khāqān and others ʿAmr.
He was an imam, a ḥāfiẓ, and a sound authority (ḥujjah); Abū Isḥāq, the client of Banū Shaybān ibn Thaʿlabah, from Kūfa.
He was born in the time of the Companions—contemporaneous with the likes of Ibn ʿUmar and Jābir—and he met ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Awfā, from whom he heard directly.

He also narrated from men of a slightly lower tier, such as Abū al-Zinād and Ashʿath ibn Abī al-Shaʿthāʾ.
Those who reported from him include Abū Isḥāq al-Sabīʿī and ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal—both his peers—as well as Misʿar, Shuʿbah, Sufyān, Ibrāhīm ibn Ṭahmān, Jarīr ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd, Ibn ʿUyaynah, Zāʾidah, ʿAbthar, ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ziyād, Hushaym, Abū ʿĀwanah, Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh, Ibn Fuḍayl, Ḥafṣ ibn Ghiyāth, Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh, Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī, Asbāṭ ibn Muḥammad, Jaʿfar ibn ʿAwn—the last of his pupils—and many others besides them.
