Abū Ḥātim and others said: “There is no problem with him.”

Ibn Wahb reported: Ḥaywah informed us, and Zuhrah ibn Maʿbad told me that ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz said to him, “Where do you live?”
I replied, “In Fusṭāṭ.”
He said, “Do you dwell in that foul, stinking place—ugh!—and abandon the goodly city, Alexandria? There you can attain both worldly and eternal benefit; it is a pleasant place to settle. I wish my grave could be there.”
A similar account was transmitted by Ḍimām ibn Ismāʿīl from Zuhrah.
Zuhrah died in 135 AH.
It is also said that he passed away in 137 AH, after reaching advanced age.
