50 – ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah ibn al-Ḥārith al-Anṣārī * (M, 4)
He was the son of ʿAmr ibn Ghaziyyah al-Anṣārī, a Khazrajī of the Bukhārī branch, from the Māzin clan of Medina—one of the trustworthy narrators.
He narrated from Abū Ṣāliḥ al-Sammān, al-Shaʿbī, al-Rabīʿ ibn Sabrah, ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Taymī, and others.
Transmitters from him include Bakr ibn Muḍar, Sulaymān ibn Bilāl, Ibn Luhayʿah, Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar, al-Darāwardī, Bishr ibn al-Mufaḍḍal, and a group besides them.
Ibn Saʿd said: “Reliable and prolific in ḥadith; Muslim relied on his reports, and al-Bukhārī cited him for corroboration. Ibn Ḥazm, however, declared him weak—and he was mistaken.”
He died in 140 AH.
