Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād informed us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Nuʿm narrated to us, from Abū Saʿīd:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the creatures a muḥrim (pilgrim in the state of consecration) is allowed to kill. He answered: “The snake, the scorpion, the small verminous rat, he may stone the crow but is not to kill it, the vicious dog, the kite, and any attacking predator.”⦗1⦘
Abū Dāwūd also recorded this, yet it is a munkar report.
Ibn Fuḍayl said: Yazīd narrated to us, from Sulaymān ibn ʿAmr ibn al-Aḥwaṣ, from Abū Barzah, who stated:
“Muʿāwiyah and ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ began singing, whereupon the Prophet ﷺ said, ‘O Allah, plunge them headlong into turmoil, and drive them forcefully into the Fire.’”⦗2⦘
This report is likewise munkar.
His ḥadīth concerning the banners was also rejected. Abū Jaʿfar al-ʿUqaylī said:
Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us; ʿAmr ibn ʿAwn narrated to us; Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh informed us, from Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allāh, who said:
“We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a group of Quraysh youths came to him, and his face changed color. We said, ‘Messenger of Allah, we keep noticing something in your face that you dislike.’
He replied: ‘We are a Household for whom Allah has chosen the Hereafter over this world. After me, my Household will suffer banishment and dispersal until there come people from here’—and he pointed toward the east—‘bearing black banners. They will demand their right, and it will be denied them once, twice, or three times…’”
