Ishaq passed away in 132 AH; another report states that his death occurred in 134 AH.

Muslim also recorded a hadith from his father, ʿAbd Allah, in which the latter relates from his own son and from his brother Anas.
Among those who transmitted from Ishaq were Abū Tuwwalah and Sulaymān, the freedman of al-Hasan ibn ʿAlī.
He died during the caliphate of al-Walid ibn ʿAbd al-Malik, at roughly eighty years of age.
